检测原理

Product Overview
The CheKine™ Micro Glycerol Content Assay Kit is a highly sensitive colorimetric-based tool designed for the quantitative analysis of glycerol content in animal and plant tissues, cells, serum (plasma), and other liquid samples. Glycerol, as a key intermediate in triglyceride metabolism, exhibits concentration changes that directly reflect lipid metabolic status, making it an important indicator in energy metabolism research.
Assay Principle
This kit quantifies glycerol through an enzymatic reaction cascade: glycerol is phosphorylated by glycerol kinase in the presence of ATP to produce glycerol-3-phosphate, which is then oxidized by glycerol phosphate oxidase to generate hydrogen peroxide. The hydrogen peroxide, under the catalysis of peroxidase, reacts with a chromogenic substrate to form quinoneimine, which exhibits a characteristic absorption peak at 505 nm. The glycerol content in the sample can be precisely calculated by measuring the absorbance.
