Description Monoclonal Antibody against Cytokeratin 7, clone OV-TL 12/30 Intended Use **Research Use Only (RUO)**
This product is sold for laboratory research use only, not for human or in-vivo use.Clone OV-TL 12/30 Form Cell Culture Supernatant (dialysed against 0.05M Tris/HCl, pH 7.2 + 0.015M sodium azide) Host Mouse Species Reactivity Human IsoType Cytokeratin 7 (OV-TL 12/30) Monoclonal Antibody IgG1 Specificity Cytokeratin 7 belongs to the intermediate filaments, which create a cytoskeleton in almost all eukaryotic cells. In contrast to other intermediate filaments, cytokeratins (CKs) are made up of a highly complex multigene family of polypeptides with molecular masses ranging from 40 to 68 kDa. CKs are generally held to belong to the most fundamental markers of epithelial differentiation, and until now, 20 distinct CK polypeptides have been revealed in various human epithelia. The CKs can be divided into an acidic typeA (class I) and a neutral-basic type B (class II) subfamily. CK7, a 54 kDa protein, belongs to the neutral-basic type B subfamily, and its distribution is confined to glandular and transitional epithelia.
In one- and two-dimensional SDS-PAGE and immunoblotting of Triton X-100-extracted cytoskeleton preparations of several cell cultures and tissues, the antibody labelled a 54 kDa band corresponding to cytokeratin 7.
This antibody was generated against OTN 11, ovarian carcinoma cell line.Uses This antibody is effective in immunoblotting, immunocytochemistry (ICC) and immunohistochemistry (IHC). Paraffin sections: The antibody can be used for,labelling paraffin-embedded tissue sections fixed in formalin or Bouin¡¯s. Pre-treatment of tissues with proteinase K or heat induced epitope retrieval is recommended. The tissue sections should not dry out during the treatment or during the following immunocytochemical staining procedure.
