The isotype of clone MM-30, mouse IgM, κ, was chosen as an isotype control after screening on a variety of resting, activated, live, and fixed mouse, rat and human tissues.

Formulation 1ml at 0.025mg/ml concentration. Supplied in a phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.2% (w/v) BSA.
Preparation The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography, and conjugated with PE under optimal conditions. The solution is free of unconjugated PE and antibody.
Storage Store at 4°C. Do not freeze. Light sensitive.
Stability Stable for 6 months from date of receipt when stored as directed.
Applications Tested by flow cytometry (FC) tested for the product quality. This antibody is used as an isotype control in immunofluorescent staining (surface or intracellular) for flow cytometric analysis.
Recommended Usage This isotype control is used at the same concentration as the relevant antibody, typically 1 μg per 1x106 cells.
Stemgent® Phycoerythrin (PE) Mouse IgM Isotype Control AntibodyGeneral Protocol for Immunofluorescent Staining
Isolate and dissociate cells to single cell suspension. Collect cells in a 15 ml conical tube.
Centrifuge the cell suspension at 300 x g for 5 minutes at 4°C. Re-suspend the cell pellet to a concentration of 0.2x107 to 1x107 cells per ml in PBS. Keep cells on ice.
For each sample, add 100 μl of the cell suspension to a 4 ml round-bottom tube and add the appropriate amount (5-20 μl per 1x106 viable cells) of the PE-conjugated antibody.
Incubate at 4°C for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Add PBS to bring cell suspension to 4 ml. Centrifuge the cell suspension at 300 x g for 5 minutes at 4°C.
Aspirate and agitate the cell pellet. Add 10 μL (0.25 μg) of 7- Aminoactinomycin D (cell viability dye) to each sample and incubate for 20 minutes at 4°C.
Add appropriate volume of PBS to each tube. The cells are ready to be analyzed by flow cytometry.
