Product Overview



Stemgent® Purified Mouse anti-Human Nestin Antibody was screened on a human neural progenitor cell line using immunocytochemistry (ICC) and flow cytometry (FC), and selected, among those tested, as the best application-verified monoclonal anti-Nestin antibody for stem cell research applications. Nestin is a class VI intermediate filament protein expressed in stem cells of the central nervous system (CNS) but not in mature CNS cells1,2. Its expression is used extensively as a marker for neural lineage cells derived from human embryonic stem (hES) and induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells3,4. Nestin is also expressed in non-neural stem cell populations such as pancreatic islet progenitors5 and hematopoietic progenitors6.
