L-N5-(1-Iminoethyl) ornithine hydrochloride has been used to study the effects of the cytotoxic drug paclitaxel and carbachol (a cholinergic agonist) to induce death in breast tumor MCF-7 cells and the role of nitric oxide synthase (NOS) in this effect.[1] It has also been used to study its effects on pulmonary arterial responses to sufentanil in the feline pulmonary vascular bed.[2][3]
