Mouse anti Cryptosporidium parvum antibody, clone 7631 recognizes the protozoan Cryptosporidium parvum, an obligate intracellular parasite of the phylum Apicomplexa. The genome of C. parvum is one of the smallest among unicellular eukaryotic organisms.
C. parvum is one of several species that cause cryptosporidiosis; a disease affecting the intestines of mammals spread through the fecal-oral route. The main symptom is self-limiting diarrhea in people with intact immune systems. However, in immunocompromised individuals, such as AIDS patients, infection can cause permanent & life-threatening diarrhea. Cryptosporidiosis is one of the most common waterborne diseases worldwide (Current & Garcia 1991) .

This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
