Mouse anti Human C3aR，clone 17

Mouse anti Human C3aR antibody, clone 1hC3aRZ8, recognizes the human receptor of C3a (C3aR), this clone is also known in the literature as clone hC3aRZ8. C3a is a ligand to the seven-transmembrane coupled receptor C3aR. C3aR is expressed in myeloid cells including monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells as well as T cells, endothelial, epithelial, glial cells and neurons (Wang et al. 2019). The response of C3a binding to C3aR has been shown to be cell type specific. For example, in mast cells, C3a elicits a proinflammatory histamine degranulation response, whereas on neutrophils, C3a exhibits an anti-inflammatory response, through attenuation of neutrophil mobilization into circulation after injury (Mathern & Heeger 2015). Other functionalities have included leukocyte activation, vascular permeability and chemotaxis (Wang et al. 2019). Beyond its immune related functions C3aR has been shown to facilitate osteoclast differentiation and bone formation (Ignatius et al. 2011). It has also been shown to be up-regulated in multiple sclerosis, with increased expression on glial cells (Gasque et al. 1998).
