Rabbit anti Human PRMT2 antibody recognizes protein arginine N-methyltransferase 2.
PRMT2 methylates arginyl residues in proteins such as STAT3, FBL, histone H4 and functions as a coactivator of androgen receptor (AR)-mediated and estrogen receptor (ER)-mediated transactivation (Qi et al. 2002, Meyer et al. 2007). PRMT2 may inhibit NF-kappa-B transcription and promote apoptosis involved in growth regulation (Ganesh et al. 2006). In humans, the C-terminal domain of pol II (CTD) comprises 52 repeats of the consensus heptapeptide Tyr1/Ser2/Pro3/Thr4/Ser5/Pro6/Ser7 that is phosphorylated by several kinases during transcription (Zaborowska et al. 2016).

This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
