Rabbit anti Human NKX2.5 antibody recognizes homeobox protein NKX-2.5.
Homeobox protein NKX-2.5 is a protein encoded by the NKX2.5 gene. Homeobox-containing genes such as NKX2.5 encode for numerous transcription factors that go on to aid in the development of many structures including the heart (Bartlett et al. 2010). NKX2.5 expression is crucial for the development of atrial, ventricular, and conotruncal septation as well as the atrioventricular (AV) valve and the maintenance of AV conduction. Mutations in the NKX2.5 gene have been linked to congenital heart disease (CHD) (Wang et al. 2017).

This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
