Rabbit anti Human HMGN2 antibody recognizes high mobility group nucleosome-binding domain-containing protein 2, also known as non-histone chromosomal protein HMG-17.
HMGN2 is a 9 kDa member of the HMG class of chromosomal proteins, the most abundant non-histones present in the nuclei of eukaryotic cells (Hock et al. 2007). Chromatin regions with high levels of HMGN2 are enriched in transcriptionally active genes and in acetylated histones. HMGN2 associates with actively transcribed genes. HMGN2 also binds to the inner side of the nucleosomal DNA, thereby regulating the interaction between the DNA and the nucleosome. HMGN2 may also play a role in maintaining transcribable genes in a unique chromatin conformation (Garza-Manero et al. 2019).

This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
