Mouse anti Human adiponectin antibody, clone D02-7B10, recognizes adiponectin, also known as ACRP30, apM-1, ADIPOQ. Adiponectin is a fat-derived hormone which suppresses glucose production in the liver and enhances fatty acid oxidation in skeletal muscle, and acts as a messenger to allow communication between adipose tissue and other organs (Wang and Scherer, 2016). Adiponectin can elicit several downstream signaling events, including the insulin signaling pathway. Anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-atherogenic effects of adiponectin have been identified, and the protein sensitizes cells to insulin. Decreased adiponecin levels may play a role in development of type 2 diabetes, and therefore, adiponectin has been suggested as a potential therapeutic target for diabetes (Achari and Jain 2017).

This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
