Anti-Cytokeratin-8 Recombinant

​Cytokeratin 8 (CK8), also known as keratin 8 (KRT8), is a type II intermediate filament protein predominantly expressed in simple epithelial tissues, including the liver, pancreas, and intestine. It forms heterodimers with keratin 18 (KRT18) to create the intermediate filament network, which provides structural support and maintains cellular integrity. Beyond its structural role, CK8 is involved in various cellular processes such as signal transduction, apoptosis regulation, and stress response. For instance, CK8 has been shown to bind to the cytoplasmic domain of tumor necrosis factor receptor type 2 (TNFR2), moderating TNF-dependent activation of the NF-κB transcription factor, thereby influencing inflammatory responses. Additionally, CK8 functions as a major plasminogen receptor in select epithelial and carcinoma cells, implicating it in processes like cell migration and tissue remodeling. Alterations in CK8 expression or mutations in the KRT8 gene have been associated with various diseases, including liver disorders and certain carcinomas, highlighting its significance in both normal physiology and pathology.
