Rb is directly involved in the heterochromatin formation by maintaining overall chromatin structure and, in particular, that of constitutive heterochromatin by stabilizing histone methylation. Defects in Rb are a cause of retinoblastoma, bladder cancer and osteogenic sarcoma. |
