脱落酸是一种有机物,化学式为C15H20O4,是一种抑制生长的植物激素,因能促使叶子脱落而得名。可能广泛分布于高等植物。除促使叶子脱落外尚有其他作用,如使芽进入休眠状态、促使马铃薯形成块茎等。对细胞的延长也有抑制作用。1965年证实,脱落素II和休眠素为同一种物质,统一命名为脱落酸。
