沿日本宗谷海峡东西伸延的分布界线,亦称宗谷线。八田三郎( 1910)根据两栖类、爬行类和淡水无脊椎动物的分布情况确定,此线以北的库页岛完全属于西伯利亚亚区;而以南的北海道则是本州岛许多种类的北界,隶属于中国东北亚区,他认为该线比以往公认的布莱基斯顿线有着更深的意义。当今大体上承认此线,而气候生态的意义比地史的意义更大。
