Used for protein denaturation and as a mild solubilizer for insoluble or denatured proteins. Can be used to refolding proteins from samples (such as inclusion bodies) that have been denatured with 6M guanidine hydrochloride. Can be used together with guanidine hydrochloride and dithiothreitol (DTT) to refolding denatured proteins to restore their natural or active form
