Ko143 has been used as a positive control inhibitor of BCRP function in MCF7/MX100 cell lines overexpressing MCF7 and BCRPABCG2 transporter breast cancer resistance protein (BCRP) plays an important role in the treatment of many drugs and environmental toxins
Ko143 shows>200 fold selectivity to P-gp and MRP-1 transporters, can increase intracellular drug accumulation, reverse BCRP mediated multidrug resistance
It can block topotecan and ABZSO transport in a concentration dependent manner
It is reported that Ko143, together with other known BCRP inhibitors (such as fumitremorgin C Compared with GF120918), Ko143 is a more specific BCRP inhibitor
