环氧化酶(Cyclooxygenase，COX)又称前列腺素内氧化酶合成酶(Prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase，PTGS)，是一种同时具有环氧化酶和过氧化氢酶活性的双功能酶。例如，COX的环氧化酶活性可以催化花生四烯酸(Arachidonic Acid，AA)转化为前列腺素G2(prostaglandin G2, PGG2)，而COX的过氧化氢酶活性又可以将前列腺素G2转化为前列腺素H2(prostaglandin H2,PGH2)。
花生四烯酸在环氧合酶催化下生成前列腺素，在辅因子(血红素)作用下环氧合酶开启过氧化物酶活力，使荧光红转化为荧光物质。 |
