In Vivo: Taurohyodeoxycholic acid reduces the size and weight of human gallstones in vitro. Taurohyodeoxycholic acid increases bile flow, bile cholesterol secretion and bile lipid secretion in rats. Co-administration of Taurohyodeoxycholic acid and Taurochenodeoxycholic acid prevented Taurohyodeoxycholic acid-induced hepatotoxicity and increased bile flow and bile acid and phospholipid secretion in rats.
