A lysosomal friendly agent. Exists in acidic and lipid rich areas. Dansulfoyl pentanediamine can also be used as a solvent polarity probe. After pretreatment, it can inhibit vesicular transport and reduce the presence of rotavirus in L cells. Usually used for monitoring autophagy. Due to the combination of ion capture and specific interactions with membrane lipids, monodansyl cadaverine preferentially accumulates in autophagic vesicles.
