Description ：Human macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) is a 12.5 kD, 115 amino acid, nonglycosylated polypeptide expressed by multiple cell types, including activated T cells,macrophages, eosinophils, epithelial cells, and endothelial cells. MIF plays many roles inbiological processes such as catalytic activity, immunity, endocrine regulation, signalmodulation, and inflammation.
MIF is expressed in malignant cells including lung, liver, breast, colon, and prostate tumors.Studies suggest that MIF might serve as a molecular link between chronic inflammation andcancer
Recombinant MIF consists of a mixture of monomers, dimers, and trimers. The physiologicallyactive forms are believed to be predominantly dimeric and trimeric forms.

Recommended Usage ：Each lot of this protein is quality control tested by ELISA assay. A concentration of 4 µg/ml of thecapture antibody was utilized to generate the example standard curve. It is recommended that eachlot of reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
Application Notes ：ELISA: To measure human MIF, the purified 10C3 antibody (Cat. No. 525501) is useful as thecapture antibody in a sandwich ELISA assay, when used in conjunction with the biotinylated 10C3antibody (Cat. No. 525503) as the detection antibody.
Additional reported applications (for the relevant formats) include: functional assay andneutralization . The LEAF™ purified antibody (Endotoxin <0.1 EU/µg, Azide-Free, 0.2 µm filtered) isrecommended for functional assays (contact our custom solutions team).
