描述：

Arachidonic acid is an unsaturated fatty acid of cell membrane phospholipids and has been known to serve as a precursor to numerous eicosanoids and prostoglandins as well as other bioactive molecules. Ibuprofin is known to prevent arachadonic acid from being converted into various prostoglandins by acetylating cyclooxygenases. Experiments have shown that Arachidonic acid can cause activation of PKC. Further studies have demonstrated Arachidonic acid to cause release of Ca²⁺ from isolated cardiac and skeletal sarcoplasmic reticulum vesicles. This compound has demonstrated a capacity to directly activate GTP binding protein in the neutrophil plasma membrane and induce superoxide anion generation from intact neutrophils.
