背景介绍
Discs large homolog 5 (DLG5) belongs to the membrane-associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) family. DLG5 participates in epithelial cell polarity maintenance and cancer development. DLG5 is highly expressed in normal tissues, but its expression is decreased in many cancers, such as bladder cancer, prostate cancer, breast cancer, and hepatocellular carcinoma (PMID: 32015336). Down-regulation of DLG5 is highly correlated with clinical tumor stage. In breast cancer, knockdown of DLG5 induces cell migration, and overexpression of DLG5 inhibits cell migration (PMID: 28169360). DLG5 has 3 isoforms with the molecular weight of 75, 214 and 240 kDa.
