L-DOPA (L-3,4-Dihydroxyphenylalanine)
The nonprotein amino acid, 3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (L -DOPA) (Fig. 1) is present in high concentrations (about 3–6%) in Mucuna spp. The in vitro addition of L -DOPA to the red blood cells from individuals deficient in glucose 6-phosphate
approximately 35 minutes and the slides pass through the following solutions in this order. i) 5% chromic acid x1 ii) Distilled water x5 iii) P-L-L solution x1 7. Dry the slides in the rack in the 37°C oven for 24 hours.
