Strep-Tactin® Superflow® is suitable for affinity chromatography-based purification of strep-tagged fusion proteins from cell culture media, cell lysates or other mixed protein preparations. It is optimized for column affinity chromatography and recommended for proteins <90 kDa.
The resin consists out of highly cross-linked agarose beads coupled to Strep-Tactin®, a streptavidin variant that binds to proteins fused to a Strep-tag®II or a Twin-Strep-tag®. This purification system delivers an outstanding target purity (>95%) without tedious optimization steps due to the specific binding of tagged proteins and a targeted elution. Resin regeneration is possible, enabling multiple purification cycles.
Please note that biotinylated proteins also bind to Strep-Tactin® Superflow®. If biotinylated proteins are expected, use BioLock. Furthermore, this resin is a 50% suspension, so for packing e.g. a 1 ml gravity column, 2 ml of resin is required.
If you are unsure if this is the best resin for your approach, have a look at our resin specifications.
