Product Description:
W-21 Supplement (50×) is an optimized serum-free supplement used to support the growth and viability of embryonic, post-natal, and adult hippocampal and other central nervous system (CNS) neurons. W-21 Supplement is provided as a liquid and is intended to be used with Neuro Cell Medium for cell culture of nearly pure populations (<0.5% Glial cell) of neuronal cells without the need for an astrocyte feeder layer. W-21 Supplement includes a cocktail of antioxidants to reduce reactive oxygen damage.

Read the Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and follow the handling instructions. Wear appropriate protective eyewear, clothing, and gloves.
Prepare Medium:
1. Neuro Cell Medium is recommended for primary neuronal cultures. Neuro Cell Medium requires
supplementation with W-21 Supplement prior to use. Thaw W-21 Supplement overnight at 4°C.
2. Aseptically add 10mL W-21 Supplement to 500mL medium before use.
Note:
Remaining W-21 Supplement may be aliquoted into working volumes and stored at –20°C to –5°C. Thaw aliquots as needed. Do not freeze-thaw W-21 Supplement more than twice.
Once supplemented, the complete Neuro Cell Medium is stable for up to one week when stored in the dark at 2°C to 8°C.
