Intended Use
Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) is a highly contagious viral disease of many wild and domestic cloven-footed mammals and many other animals,that caused by Foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV). In swine, the disease is characterized by vesicles on the feet, snout and in the mouth.
The ELISA kit is used to detect Foot and Mouth Disease Virus O (FMDV) antibody in the serum, plasma, etc.
Principle of the Procedure
This ELISA kit uses the competitive ELISA principle to detect Foot and Mouth Disease Virus O (FMDV) antibody in the serum, plasma. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with Foot and Mouth Disease Virus O (FMDV) antigen. Diluted samples and HRP-Conjugate are added to the plate wells, if the sample contains Foot and Mouth Disease Virus O (FMDV) antibody, a competitive inhibition reaction is launched between HRP-Conjugate and Foot and Mouth Disease Virus O (FMDV) antibody in samples with the solid phase antigen. After washing off unbound material, TMB substrate solution is added to all wells and incubated. An enzyme-catalyzed reaction generates a blue color in the solution, thereafter, stop solution is added to stop the substrate reaction and the color turns yellow. The absorbance value of each well was measured with an Microplate reader at 450nm wavelength to know whether the sample contained Foot and Mouth Disease Virus O (FMDV) antibody.

Storage & Stability
- After receiving the kit, an unopened kit can be stored at 4℃ for 12 months, protected from light.
- when the kit is used, the remaining reagents should be stored at 4℃, protected from light and avoid moisture. The service life is 2 months
- All reagent bottle caps must be tightened to prevent evaporation and microbial pollution, the volume of imeasuring equipment instead of directly pouring into the vials.
- The expiration date of the product is determined by the label on the box, and all components are guaranteed to be stable during the shelf life.

Reagent Preparation
- Bring all components to room temperature (18-25℃) before use. Follow the Microplate reader manual for set-up and preheat it for 15 min before OD measurement.
- Working Wash Buffer Reagent: Dilute 100mL of Concentrated Wash Buffer with 900 mL of deionized or distilled water to prepare 1000 mL of Wash Buffer.
- Sample preparation
- Bring the samples of serum, plasma to room temperature and mixed for use.
